ghost season
2012-2015
Presented in exhibition form, salon style.
Ghost Season is an exploration of generational traumas
just before #MeToo became viral.
One that bridges the gap between child and adulthood,
between mother and daughter.
Realities of patriarchy shared between friends.
An exploration that sorts through the roles of victim and perpetrator and the lived consequences for both.
By using photographs alongside of appropriated family documents, a narrative is sought that touches on the suppression of trauma to preserve social identity, and questions the ideas of resilience and healing. This is all part of the artist's constant search to find order and moments of clarity in the chaos of the past, compared to its relationship with the present.
